Navy seeks ideas for shoreline surveillance

The Navy research center focused on coastal operations is casting the net for ideas to develop new amphibious warfare and shoreline surveillance methods.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center in Panama City, Fla., wants white papers on how to collect and process data on the environment more efficiently, increase the autonomy of unmanned vehicles and build high-energy sensors.
It specifically wants to refine underwater navigation technologies, create alternative fuels for amphibious vehicles and improve diver life-support technologies. The solicitation closes May 31, 2013.
