At this very moment, Google is using your mobile device to track your location. The tech giant has packaged this feature as Google Timeline, which allows users to go back and see where they've been.

While that information is private and only available to the individual user, many might not like this feature. Here's how to stop it.

On your computer, go to Google and click on the "My Account" page. From there, go to the privacy section and the "Places You Go" page. Click on "Manage Activity" to see all of the places you've traveled with your smartphone in hand. Don't like what you see? Simply hit "Pause Location Tracking" at the bottom of the page.

Beware though, many other apps and services might also be keeping tabs on your location.
