The affordable phone was incredibly popular on the online market place.

Until recently, the Blu R1 HD was the best-selling phone on Amazon: It ran Android software and had an affordable price of around $60.

But Amazon has recently stopped selling the phone along with other Blu phones due to security concerns.

These concerns were laid out in report from Kryptowire in July from that found certain models of Blu Phones are filled with spyware. The software collects users' information and habits and sends it back to China. This includes entire text messages, contact lists and call history.

These reports aren't new, however, and in fact date back to November 2016 and the phones' manufacturer Blu claimed it had fixed them. Now, Blu denied wrongdoing and is conducting a review in order to get the phones back on the market as quickly as possible.
